After traveling over 3000 miles, across 9 states, we are happy to be home from our 6th trip to The Jack.  Over 80 teams from across the world competed this past weekend in one of the most prestigious contests in the nation.

We arrived to Lynchburg, TN on Thursday to begin setup for the event. That night, we attended the Champions Dinner hosted by Jack Daniel’s and Tuffy Stone at the famous Miss Mary Bobo’s restaurant. This dinner was one for the books. We purchased amazing whiskey, ate incredible food and met some very cool people.

Friday was a busy day full of full or friends, food and booze! In the morning, we participated in the “bottle buy” at the the Jack Daniel’s Sistillery and got a ton of whiskey to take back to MT. After, Ty participated in cocktail competition where he made a unique drink called Churchill’s Breakfast. Next was another delicious meal at Miss Mary Bobo’s with meatloaf and all the fixin’s on the menu. After prepping for Saturday’s competition, we headed to the town square for the BBQ team parade, and ended the night on the hill to commence The Jack with a drink & dinner social over a view of the holler. We even got Ty a haircut, and met Judy Boyd Terjen, Jack Daniels oldest living relative!

Saturday we competed in the KCBS competition, submitting the 4 big meats (chicken, ribs, pork and brisket).  At the awards, we received 2nd place in the cocktail competition.  Congrats to all the folks who heard their names called, Good Googly Goo BBQ for the RGC and Heavy Smoke BBQ for the GC! Thank you to all the crew, judges, and volunteers who put on this incredible event.
